Spacer's Toulouse is a French volleyball club from Toulouse , whose first men's team plays in the highest national league and in the European Cup.

history

Initially there were two volleyball clubs in Toulouse : the Toulouse Université Club (TUC) founded in 1929 and the Toulouse Olympique Aérospatiale Club (TOAC) founded in 1945 . These two clubs merged in 1994 to form TOAC-TUC Volleyball-Ball. In 1996, at the suggestion of the president of the local basketball club, the two sports, handball and rugby , united under the name Spacer's Toulouse. Three years later, the basketball players dropped out and the joint project ended; only the volleyball players kept the name.

1996 Spacer's Toulouse succeeded in promotion to the first division Pro A, where the team initially achieved double-digit placements. 2004/05 she was second rate for one season, but managed to get promoted again immediately. In the 2006/07 season, the club reached the semi-finals in the national cup competition and third place in the championship. In the 2007/08 CEV Cup , Toulouse reached the quarter-finals and lost to M. Roma Volley . In 2008/09 there was a fifth place in the championship and the semi-finals in the national cup. In 2013 the team was in the national cup final for the first time, losing 3-1 to Tours Volley-Ball . In the next two years she came in each cup semi-finals. In the 2014/15 season she also reached the quarter-finals in the CEV Cup and had to admit defeat to Dynamo Moscow . In 2017 she became French runner-up. Spacer's Toulouse thus qualified for the 2017/18 Champions League . In the preliminary round, the team will meet the German champions Berlin Recycling Volleys .
