Volleyball Champions League 2007/08 (men)

The 2007/08 season of the Volleyball Champions League began on October 16, 2007 with the group stage and ended with the final on March 30, 2008. 24 teams from 15 nations took part in the competition. Dinamo Tattransgas Kazan from Russia won the competition.

Balance sheet

Germany was represented by last year's triple winner, VfB Friedrichshafen . The only Austrian team in the competition were the Aon hotVolleys Vienna .

The VfB Friedrichshafen qualified with a balanced record of three wins and three defeats as second in Group C for the play-offs. In the first round, the 3-0 win in the first leg against VK Dynamo Moscow was enough to qualify for the quarter-finals. There the defending champion failed after two games over five sets each because of three ball points on Sisley Treviso .

For the Aon hotVolleys Vienna , the competition was over after the preliminary round. In Group D, the Austrians finished last with just one win against Copra Piacenza .

Group stage

During the draw, the qualified teams were divided into six groups of four participants each. The first two teams in each group and Roeselare as the best third party reached the play-offs.

Play-off

In addition to the host Skra Bełchatów , three teams qualified for the Final Four. These teams were determined in two play-off rounds with a return leg. The games took place from February 12th to 14th and February 19th to 21st and on February 4th / 6th. and 12./13. March 2008.

Final Four

At the Final Four on March 29th and 30th in Łódź, Skra Bełchatów, who was appointed host after the end of the group matches by the CEV, played against the three teams qualified in the play-offs. Dinamo Tattransgas Kazan beat Copra Piacenza in the final and the Poles took third place.
