Søren Lodberg Hvas (* 1940 in Thyborøn ) is a Danish clergyman. From 1991 to 2010 he was Lutheran Bishop of the Aalborg Diocese .
Søren Lodberg Hvas attended Vestjysk Gymnasium from 1959. In 1967 he completed his studies in theology . Until 1970 he worked at the Institute for Christianity Studies at the Danish Teachers' College. Then he was pastor in Nordby on Fanø . In 1980 he became dean of the Cathedral of Haderslev . In addition to his work as a bishop , he has been President of the Danish churches abroad since 1999. He was made a Knight of the Order of Dannebrog by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark . Because he had reached the age limit for Danish bishops, he gave up his office as Bishop of Aalborg on May 9, 2010 to Henning Toft Bro .
