Henning Toft Bro (born October 23, 1956 in Thyborøn ) is a Danish clergyman. Since May 9, 2010 he has been the Lutheran Bishop of the Aalborg Diocese .

Henning Toft Bro attended regular school in Thyborøn from 1963 and graduated in 1973 with an intermediate level. He worked for a few years as a fisherman and dock worker before taking his Abitur in 1978 in Nr. Nissum . He then studied Protestant theology at the University of Aarhus . After graduating in 1985, he became a pastor in Hjerm . In 1997 he took over a parish in Nykøbing Mors and became provost of Morsø Provsti . In 2010, in the election of the successor to Bishop Søren Lodberg Hvas, he narrowly prevailed against his competitor Marianne Christiansen in the second ballot . Since his consecration on May 9, 2010, he is the 58th bishop of the Aalborg diocese .

From 1983 to 1995 Bro was a member of the well-known Danish folk band Tørfisk . He participated in many albums of the band founded by his brother Bent and composed some songs, including the great success VLTJ . He also composed some new sacred songs that found their way into Danish hymn books.

Henning Toft Bro is married to Ragna Bro. He has two daughters and one son. In 2004 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Dannebrog Order.
