Tørfisk (dt .: Stockfisch) is a Danish music group (according to their own statement Denmark's oldest boy band) from Thyborøn in West Jutland at the entrance to the Limfjord . The group was founded in 1981 and consisted of the four members Anker Hviid, Bent Kirk, Egon Kirk and Bent Bro. From 1983 to 1995 Henning Toft Bro was also a member of the band. However, he was a permanent member of the group for several years. In 2010 he was appointed bishop of the Aalborg diocese (Danish: Aalborg stift ). The group drew their inspiration from Irish folk music, but the lyrics were about life in West Jutland and often the life of the fishermen. Their role model is the band The Dubliners .

The group has released 16 records, their biggest hits being Lugter lidt af Fisk (smells like fish), Tørfisk and VLTJ . The latter hit VLTJ achieved cult status among fans of the band and almost every Dane knows the song, which is about the railway line to Thyborøn (Danish: Vemb-Lemvig-Thyborøn Jernbane ).

In 1997 the band released the CD Sildenur , which is about Bjarne Riis's performance during the 1996 Tour de France .
