Marianne Christiansen

Marianne Christiansen (born June 18, 1963 in Haslev ) is a Danish Lutheran clergyman. Since 2013 she has been bishop in the Haderslev diocese of the Danish People's Church .

Life

Christiansen was born as the daughter of the Lutheran pastor and later Bishop Henrik Christiansen . She graduated from Aarhus University with a Musicology Candidate in 1988 and a Theology Candidate in 1992. After ordination , she became parish priest in Skørping (North Jutland) in 1993 . After working for a year as a lecturer at the pastoral seminar in Aarhus, she became a provost in Hadsund in 1997 . In 2004 she took on a teaching position again, this time at the training institute of the Danish People's Church. From 2005 she was parish priest in Thisted , from 2011 in Løgumkloster .

On May 12, 2013, she was introduced to her office as bishop in Haderslev Cathedral . She is also a member of the Inter-Church Council ( Folkekirkens mellemkirkelige råd ), which is responsible for the ecumenical relations of the national church at home and abroad.

Christiansen is the co-author of various books on liturgy and hymnology . She is married to the musician and former Folketing MP for the radical Venstre Henrik Svane and has six children.
