Thisted is the capital of the eponymous Danish municipality Thisted on the north bank of the Limfjord . 13,536 inhabitants live in the village (as of January 1, 2020). The theophoric naming refers to the Germanic god Tyr .
Significant is the trade with agricultural products . Thisted is the middle center for the Thy area . The railway connection to Struer ends at the station .
