Thisted Kommune is a Danish municipality in northern Jutland . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform by uniting the "old" Thisted municipality with the previous municipalities of Hanstholm and Sydthy in the Viborg office .

Thisted municipality has a total population of 43,423 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 1,073.70 km². It is part of the Nordjylland region .
