Until December 2006, Hanstholm Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Viborg Amt in Jutland . Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Thisted municipality together with the “old” Thisted municipality and the Sydthy municipality .
Hanstholm Municipality emerged as part of the Danish administrative reform of 1970 and comprised the following sogn :
