The bjerringbro municipality in Viborg Amt was a municipality in Jutland in Denmark . It was created during the administrative reform on April 1, 1970 . During the administrative reform on January 1, 2007 , it merged with, among others, Fjends Municipality , Karup Municipality , Møldrup Municipality and Tjele Municipality in Viborg Municipality .

Predecessor municipality
The Bjerringbro Sogne commune was created at the beginning of the 1950s by merging the Hjermind-Lee-Hjorthede Sogne commune with 3,000 inhabitants and the Bjerring Sogn from the Bjerring-Mammen Sogne commune with 1,392 inhabitants. Mammen Sogn remained as an independent Sogne commune .
Administrative reform on April 1, 1970
During the administrative reform on April 1, 1970, Bjerringbro Municipality was created by amalgamating five Sogne municipalities:

In addition, the Vester Velling-Skjern Sogne commune with 1,139 inhabitants was divided: Skjern Sogn came to Bjerringbro commune, Vester Velling Sogn came to Hvorslev commune . There was also a parcel from Gerning Sogn in Hvorslev Kommune and two matriculations and two parcels from Viskum Sogn in Tjele Kommune , as well as a parcel, 15 matriculations and five parcels from Lee Sogn and 26 matriculations, six parcels from Mammen Sogn .
