Hjørring Kommune is a Danish municipality in the Nordjylland region . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform through the merger of the previous municipalities of Hjørring , Hirtshals , Løkken-Vrå and Sindal in Nordjyllands Amt .. The local government is based in the city of Hjørring .
The municipality extends over an area of 925.70 km² and has 64,483 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
