Until December 2006, Hirtshals municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Nordjyllands Amt in northern Jutland . Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Hjørring Municipality together with the “old” Hjørring Municipality , Løkken-Vrå Municipality and Sindal Municipality .
