Until December 2006, Hobro Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Nordjyllands Amt in northern Jutland . Since January 2007, together with the former municipalities of Arden , Hadsund and Mariager (excluding the electoral district Havndal), as well as the school district Hvilsom of the municipality of Aalestrup and the town of Hannerupgård of the municipality of Nørager, it has formed the new municipality of Mariagerfjord .
