Until December 2006, Hadsund Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Nordjyllands Amt in northern Jutland . Since January 2007, together with the former municipalities of Arden , Hobro and Mariager (excluding the electoral district Havndal), as well as the school district Hvilsom of the municipality of Aalestrup and the town of Hannerupgård of the municipality of Nørager, the new municipality of Mariagerfjord .
The former town hall of Hadsund municipality is now used as a citizens' office.
