Mariager Municipality was until December 2006 a Danish municipality in what was then the Århus Office in northern Jutland . Since January 2007, the largest part has formed together with the former municipalities of Hadsund , Hobro and Arden , as well as the school district Hvilsom of the municipality of Aalestrup and the place Hannerupgård of the municipality of Nørager, the new municipality of Mariagerfjord . Havndal joined the large community of Randers .
Mariager Municipality was created in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and comprised the following Sogn :
