Hinnerup Municipality was until December 2006 a Danish municipality in what was then Århus Amt in East Jutland . Since January 2007 it has been part of the newly formed Favrskov Municipality together with the former municipalities Hammel , Hadsten and Hvorslev , as well as part of the municipality Langå .
Hinnerup Municipality was created as part of the Danish administrative reform of 1970 and comprised the following Sogn :
- Søften Sogn and Foldby Sogn (rural municipality Søften-Foldby )
- Grundfør Sogn ( Grundfør-Spørring rural municipality )
- Vitten Sogn and Haldum Sogn (rural community Vitten-Haldum-Hadsten )
