Ry Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Århus Office in East Jutland until December 2006 .
Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Skanderborg Municipality together with the “old” Skanderborg Municipality , the Galten Municipality , the Hørning Municipality and the eastern part of the Voerladegård parish of the former Brædstrup Municipality .
The Ry Kommune was created in 1966 through the merger of the parish communities ( Danish : Sogn )
- Alling Sogn in the Harde Gjern Herred ,
- Dover Sogn ( Hjelmslev Herred ),
- Gammel Rye Sogn ( Tyrsting Herred ) and
- Tulstrup Sogn (Gjern Herred)
Alling Sogn and Tulstrup Sohn previously formed a joint Alling-Tulstrup municipality .
In 1968 Ry Sogn was split off from Dover Sogn.
In the course of the Danish administrative reform of 1970 , Låsby Sogn (Gjern Herred) was added.
Thus, after the administrative reform, the Ry municipality comprised the following Sogne:
- Alling Sogn
- Dover Sogn
- Gammel Rye Sogn
- Låsby Sogn
- Ry Sogn
- Tulstrup Sogn
