Until the end of 2006, Nørhald Kommune was a Danish municipality in East Jutland in what was then the Århus Office .

Since January 2007 it has been part of the "new" municipality together with the "old" Randers Municipality , Purhus Municipality and Langå Municipality (excluding the three southernmost parishes), as well as the western part of Sønderhald Municipality and the Havndal area in Mariager Municipality Randers Commune .

Nørhald Kommune was created in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn :
