history

The institute was founded largely on the initiative of Ivar Mørch (1900–1986), a carpenter, joiner and bricklayer from Tversted . On November 11, 1926, teaching could begin with initially two lecturers.

In 1945 a former German barrack in Uggerby was purchased for 300 kroner , and an annex was added in 1959. In 2013 around 90 students were registered for the various courses. Due to dilapidation, the building had to be abandoned at the end of February 2016, whereupon the move to the former old people's home "Solhjem" in Bjergby, seven kilometers away as the crow flies, took place. There residents had set up the community center “Aktivitetshuset Solhjem”, in which Uggerby Husflid Voksenundervisning rented around 200 square meters of usable space.

The students regularly exhibit their artistic products in various town houses and galleries in the region. In March 2018 the following courses were offered, each running over a period of ten weeks with three appointments per week:

The school is a member of the nationwide Fora association , an association of numerous institutions for creative, musical and cultural adult education.
