Thisted Amt (named after the administrative seat Thisted ) was an administrative district (Danish Amt ) in Denmark until the municipal reform on April 1, 1970 .

Thyborøn originally belonged to Thisted Amt ( Vestervig-Agger Kommune ), but was transferred to Ringkøbing Amt in 1954 due to its geographical location south of the Limfjord . In elections to the Danish Parliament Folketing , Thyborøn was part of the Thisted Amt constituency until 1970.

Thisted Amt consisted of seven Harden ( Danish : Herred ):

In the course of the municipal reform in 1970, seven parishes of the Harde Vester Han Herred in the north-east were merged to form Fjerritslev Kommune and added to the Nordjyllands Amt . Five parishes on Thyholm in the south formed Thyholm Kommune in Ringkjøbing Amt .
