Vejle Amt (before 1970)
Vejle Amt (named after the city of Vejle ) was one of the offices in Denmark at that time until the Danish municipal reform on April 1, 1970 .
It extended over the areas of three medieval Syssel : Løversyssel with the Harden ( Danish : Herred ) Bjerre and Hatting , Jellingsyssel with Nørvang and Tørrild and Almindsyssel with Jerlev , Holmans , Brusk and Elbo .
1660 was initially formed from the Harden Bjerre and Hatting and the Harde Nim Stjernholm Amt , from the other named Koldinghus Amt .
In 1793, Koldinghus Amt and Stjernholm Amt were merged to form Vejle Amt with the three cities (Danish: købstæder ): Vejle, Kolding and Fredericia , but in 1799 Nim Herred was transferred to Århus Amt and was incorporated into the newly created Skanderborg Amt in 1824 . In 1864 the Harde Nørre Tyrstrup Herred , which until then had belonged to the Haderslev Amt , was added to the Vejle Amt.
Vejle Amt therefore consisted of the following Harden:
- Bjerre Herred
- Brusk Herred
- Elbo Herred
- Hatting Herred
- Holman's Herred
- Jerlev Herred
- Nørre Tyrstrup Herred
- Nørvang Herred
- Tørrild Herred
With the municipal reform in 1970 Vejle Amt was expanded to include the southern part of Skanderborg Amt and thus became the “new” Vejle Amt .
