Ringkøbing Office
Ringkøbing Amt was an administrative district ( Danish amt ) in Denmark until 1970 . It was created in 1794 by merging Lundenæs Amt and Bøvling Amt (with the exception of Harde Øster Horne Herred , which came to Ribe Amt ). Thyborøn only moved from Thisted Amt to Ringkøbing Amt in 1954 .
The main town was Ringkøbing .
Until the municipal reform in 1970, Ringkøbing Amt was the largest administrative district in terms of area. The office consisted of nine Harden:
- Vandful Herred
- Ulfborg Herred
- Hind Herred
- Skodborg Herred
- Hjerm Herred
- Ginding Herred
- Hammerum Herred
- Bølling Herred
- Nørre Horne Herred
- Vrads Herred (only from 1794 to 1822)
In 1970 the administrative districts were replaced by municipal authorities: Except for smaller areas, Ringkøbing Amt was the same as Ringkjøbing Amt (until 2006).
