Ribe Amt was a Danish commune in southwest Jutland , u. a. with the towns of Ribe and Esbjerg and the North Sea island of Fanø . The office had 224,261 inhabitants and an area of 3131 km². The population density was 72 inhabitants per km² (as of 2006).
