The Fyns Amt was a Danish official municipality and comprised Fyn , Langeland , Ærø and about 90 smaller islands. It was created in 1970 by merging Odense Amt and Svendborg Amt . The main town was Odense .
Since the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 , the area has belonged to the Syddanmark region .
