Faaborg Kommune was until December 2006 a Danish municipality on the island of Fyn in what was then Fyns Amt . Since January 2007 it has been part of the newly formed Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality together with the municipalities of Broby , ringen , Ryslinge and Årslev .
Faaborg Kommune was created in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn :
- Fåborg Sogn (City of Fåborg)
- Avernakø Sogn (rural municipality Avernakø)
- Brahetrolleborg Sogn (rural municipality Brahetrolleborg)
- Diernæs Sogn (rural municipality Diernæs)
- Horne Sogn (rural community Horne)
- Håstrup Sogn (rural municipality Håstrup)
- Lyø Sogn (rural municipality Lyø)
- Svanninge Sogn (rural municipality Svanninge)
- Vester Åby Sogn (rural municipality Vester Åby)
- Øster Hæsinge Sogn (rural municipality Øster Hæsinge)
- Åstrup Sogn (rural municipality Åstrup)
