Faaborg Kommune was until December 2006 a Danish municipality on the island of Fyn in what was then Fyns Amt . Since January 2007 it has been part of the newly formed Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality together with the municipalities of Broby , ringen , Ryslinge and Årslev .

Faaborg Kommune was created in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn :

• Fåborg Sogn (City of Fåborg)
• Avernakø Sogn (rural municipality Avernakø)
• Brahetrolleborg Sogn (rural municipality Brahetrolleborg)
• Diernæs Sogn (rural municipality Diernæs)
• Horne Sogn (rural community Horne)
• Håstrup Sogn (rural municipality Håstrup)
• Lyø Sogn (rural municipality Lyø)
• Svanninge Sogn (rural municipality Svanninge)
• Vester Åby Sogn (rural municipality Vester Åby)
• Øster Hæsinge Sogn (rural municipality Øster Hæsinge)
• Åstrup Sogn (rural municipality Åstrup)
