Assens municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then Fyns Amt in the west of the island of Fyn until December 2006 . Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Assens municipality together with the former municipalities of Glamsbjerg , Haarby , Tommerup , Vissenbjerg and Aarup .
