Until December 2006, Grindsted Municipality was a Danish municipality in what was then the Ribe Office in Jutland . Since January 2007 it has been part of the new Billund municipality together with the “old” Billund municipality and part of the previous municipality of Give .

Grindsted municipality was created in the course of the administrative reform of 1970 and included the following Sogn :

• Filskov Sogn
• Grindsted Sogn
• Hejnsvig Sogn
• Stenderup Sogn
• Sønder Omme Sogn
