Billund Municipality is a Danish municipality in Jutland . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform through the merger of the "old" Billund municipality with the previous municipality of Grindsted and part of the previous municipality of Give , on whose territory part of Billund Airport was located, all in the Ribe Office .
Billund municipality has a total population of 26,608 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 536.60 km². It is part of the Syddanmark region . The seat of the administration is in Grindsted . The municipality works with five neighboring municipalities within the Trekantområdet region .

The eastern part of Billund Airport is still in the municipality, but belongs to the parishes of Lindeballe and Ringive, which are mostly in the territory of Vejle municipality . In the course of the local government reform, the Folketing decided that parts of other municipalities should be incorporated into Billund as part of the expansion of Billund Airport.
