Vejle Kommune is a Danish municipality in East Jutland . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform through the merger of the "old" Vejle municipality with the previous municipalities of Børkop , Egtved (with the exception of Vester Nebel Sogn , which joined the new Kolding municipality ), Give (with the exception of Billund Airport which is partly in Lindeballe Sogn and Ringive Sogn ) and Jelling , as well as the parish Grejs of the former Tørring-Uldum municipality .
Vejle Municipality has a total population of 115,748 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 1,062.00 km². It is part of the Syddanmark region and works with five neighboring municipalities within the Trekantområdet region .
