Smidstrup Sogn is a parish ( Danish : Sogn ) in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Holmans Herred in what was then Vejle Office , then to Børkop Municipality in the expanded Vejle Office , which was merged into the "new" Vejle municipality in the Syddanmark region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform . From a postal point of view, Smidstrup does not belong to Vejle , nor to the former commune center Børkop , but to Fredericia in the south of the commune of the same name .

1702 inhabitants live in the parish, 789 of them in the parish (as of January 1, 2020). The church “Smidstrup Kirke” is located in the parish.

Neighboring communities are in the north Højen Sogn , in the north-east Skærup Sogn and in the east Gauerslund Sogn , also in the south-east Fredericia municipality in the east Pjedsted Sogn and in the south-east Herslev Sogn , as well as in the south-west lying Kolding municipality in the south Sønder Vilstrup Sogn and in the west Viuf Sogn .
