Middelfart Kommune is a Danish municipality in the northwest of the island of Funen . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform by merging the "old" Middelfart municipality with the previous municipalities of Ejby and Nørre Aaby in Fyns Amt .

Middelfart municipality has a total population of 38,853 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 298.80 km². It is part of the Syddanmark region and works with five neighboring municipalities within the Trekantområdet region .
