Nyborg Kommune is a Danish municipality in the east of the island of Funen . It was created on January 1, 2007 in the course of local government reform by merging the “old” Nyborg municipality with the previous municipalities of Ullerslev and Ørbæk in Fyns Amt .
Nyborg Municipality has a total population of 32,009 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) and an area of 276.80 km². It is part of the Syddanmark region .

The former church districts of Hulby in Nyborg Sogn and Tårup in Frørup Sogn were abolished on October 1, 2010 and converted into the now independent parishes of Hjulby Sogn and Tårup Sogn . Since the boundaries of the new Sogne have not yet been published, the arrows on the map can only point to the approximate location of the Sogn.
Twin cities
Nyborg Municipality ended its cooperation with its former twin cities Sandnes , Mariestad and Perniö in 2008.
