Randers Office (named after the town of Randers ) was founded in 1793 and was one of the offices in Denmark at that time until the Danish municipal reform on April 1, 1970 . In the official area were the cities ( Danish : købstad ) Randers, Hobro , Mariager , Grenå and Ebeltoft as well as the following Harden (Danish: herred ).

Rander's office was merged with the Århus office to form the “new” Århus office in 1970 (with the exception of Hobro and some of the surrounding parishes which went to the Nordjyllands office ). With the municipal reform in 2007, the area became part of the Midtjylland region .
