The VC Tirol is an Austrian woman volleyball club from Innsbruck in Tyrol . The club was founded in May 1997 and is a member of the Tyrolean Volleyball Association and the ASKÖ . The home games are played in the state sports center Innsbruck, the club colors are yellow and blue.

history

The women's volleyball department of SV Reichenau founded an independent volleyball club on May 7, 1997, the VC Tirol. The founding members were Therese Achammer (ITV athlete), Dieter Gassler, Barbara and Michaela Achammer. Josef Hauer, a sponsor, was quickly found. A year later, the club became Tyrolean champions and Tyrolean Cup winners and made it to the 2nd Bundesliga West. Another year later, in 1999, the women's volleyball club was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. Since then, the Tyrolean women have played in the first division in Austria and came third once and runner-up in 2016.
