VEB metal handle hall
The state-owned company metal pusher in Halle was founded in the 1950s under the name “Production Cooperative of the Belt and Metal Pusher Crafts Halle” and renamed in the mid-1960s. He produced lights made of light metal.
history
By combining the same components, the VEB achieved a large variety of different lamp models. From the 1970s onwards, designs were mainly implemented by the nearby college for industrial design . Allegedly, electric heaters have also been converted into lights by replacing the heater with light bulbs. The VEB produced among other things for the Swedish furniture company IKEA . According to IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad, the cooperation was broken off when it became known that the VEB had employed prisoners.
