aims

VEUKO sees itself as a European information and advisory platform for the associations of the tile stove builder / Hafner ( stove builder ) trade with the following important objectives:

  • Regular information and publication of publications on current association, advertising and job-specific events
  • Coordination of knowledge exchange in the professional and technical area
  • Joint processing of future-related tasks
  • Representation of concerns to the European Union
  • Cultivating collegial relationships

history

The first steps towards a cross-border exchange of information between the associations and guilds were taken in 1966. On January 17, 1966, the first meeting between the associations from Germany , Austria and Switzerland took place. The other most important development steps:

  • 1966 Foundation of the three-country meeting by Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • 1985 Four-country meeting through the accession of South Tyrol
  • 1986 Formulation of the first statutes
  • 1988 Publication of the first press release
  • 1998 Admission to Luxembourg and thus promotion to the five-country meeting
  • 2002 admission to Hungary
  • 2003 VEUKO founded as a registered European association
  • 2004 Admission by the Slovak and Czech Republic

Focus of work

The focus of work and advice at VEUKO is based on the concerns of the members. For example, it was agreed to compare the training systems of the individual countries and draw up recommendations. These efforts are to be promoted and financially supported by the European Union. The main topics for intensive consultations are also the costing of the tiled stove builders and Hafner, where a tiled stove / hafner-compatible process is to be developed, the importance of pellets for the tiled stove industry, the presentation of new developments, computer-aided design of tiled stoves and whole house heating and a proposal for European standards for stationary tiled stoves. In order to secure the tiled stove industry in the long term, a European image campaign per tiled stove was envisaged. Starting in Switzerland, where such a project has already started, a Europe-wide image campaign could develop. A European professional competition initiated by VEUKO is intended to support such an initiative per tiled stove over a number of years in a media-effective manner.

European platform

“VEUKO is well on the way to becoming a professional European representative of the tiled stove builder / stove trade” was proudly stated by one of the participants at the end of the 2006 annual congress. Against the background of the celebrations for the EU enlargement, the associations of Slovakia and the Czech Republic were accepted into VEUKO on May 1, 2004. In 2011 VEUKO already had 11 members and more have already expressed their wish to join.

Annual congress

A congress takes place once a year and is held intermittently in the member countries. The aim of the annual congress of the Association of European Associations of the Tiled Stove / Hafner Crafts is to exchange information between the associations at a high technical level. At this congress, in addition to free reporting on the most important questions of the past year, key topics are also dealt with, on which specialist lectures are given.

Assembly of delegates

The association is increasingly establishing itself as a platform on which a balance of interests takes place among the associations and guilds of the member countries, common concerns are discussed and jointly represented vis-à-vis other industries and also vis-à-vis the EU. In the delegates' assembly that takes place after the annual congress, the relevant resolutions are passed and the new members are accepted.
