history

Only four VE 16 SO vehicles were built; they were manufactured in 1982 and 1986 (two copies each) exclusively for the Esslingen am Neckar trolleybus . There they were added to the inventory under the company numbers 201 to 204.

In April 1995, car 202 was taken out of service and handed over to the Russian city of Vologda , where it was given the new number 149. In 2000, the three remaining vehicles were also removed from the inventory, they came to the Timișoara trolleybus in Romania . In the meantime, all four cars have been retired by their second owners; this was the case for the three cars in Timișoara in 2008.
