The sports club VIS Lwów was a German sports club from the then Polish city of Lwów .
history
The football department of the club, which was founded in 1923, joined the Lviv Regional Football Association Lwowski OZPN after a few friendly matches in 1924 . In autumn 1925, the VIS sports club won the championship in the lowest C-class. A year later, the team also became champions in the B class, but lost the qualifying game for the A class. At the end of the 1920s, the “Ostdeutsche Volksblatt” from Lemberg wrote of an increasingly nationalistically motivated unsportsmanlike behavior by the opposing teams, the referees and some spectators. For this reason, the VIS sports club withdrew from the Polish Football Association in 1931 and no longer played championship games against Polish teams. With the occupation of the city by the Red Army in September 1939 , the association ceased to exist.
