Kirsten Knip (born September 14, 1992 in Enkhuizen ) is a Dutch volleyball player .

Career

Knip comes from a sporty family. Her mother was a gymnast and her father Wim Knip played in the national volleyball team from 1976 to 1980 ; Her older sister Karin Knip is also a volleyball player. Kirsten Knip started her own career in 2002 with VV Madjoe , where she played until 2007. After a season at VV Simokos , Libera went to the HAN Volleyball youth team in 2008 . She played internationally for the first time with the Dutch juniors. In 2010 Knip moved to TVC Amstelveen , with which she won the Dutch Cup. Then she went to Alterno Apeldoorn . In 2012 the Libera made their debut in the senior national team . In the same year she was signed by Sliedrecht Sport . Knip became Dutch champion in 2013 with the club. She then took part in the 2013 European Championship , in which the Dutch women finished ninth. In 2014 Knip switched to the French club Istres OPVB. At the European Championships in 2015 in their own country, the Dutch national team with Knip was only defeated in the final against Russia and became vice European champion. Subsequently, the Libera was committed by the German Bundesliga club Rote Raben Vilsbiburg . With the ravens she reached the playoff quarter-finals. In 2016, Knip moved to the Ladies in Black Aachen within the Bundesliga . With the club she reached the quarter-finals in the Bundesliga playoffs and in the DVV Cup 2016/17 in the 2016/17 season . A year later she was third in the German championship with Aachen . With the national team, Knip reached the final round of the Nations League 2018 . At the World Cup in Japan , she was fourth with the Netherlands. In the 2018/19 season, Libera reached the semi-finals with Aachen in the 2018/19 DVV Cup and in the Bundesliga playoffs . She also played in the Challenge Cup . Then she left the club and joined the Romanian club Volei Alba Blaj .
