The Technical Research Center Finland VTT is the largest contract research organization in Northern Europe . VTT is a non-profit organization and part of the Finnish innovation system under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The VTT is involved in hundreds of international and European joint projects. There are also numerous collaborations with other research institutions. In 2015, 1428 publications were published, 296 invention disclosures were made and 48 new patents were registered (a total of 1200 patents by December 31, 2015).
