Vadim Sergeyev

Wadim Jurjewitsch Sergejew ( Russian Вадим Юрьевич Сергеев ; * April 5, 1965 ) is a former Kyrgyz judoka .

The 1.90 m tall Sergejew competed in the heavyweight over 95 kilograms until 1997. After a reform of the weight classes, he then started in the light heavyweight division up to 100 kilograms.

At the Judo World Championships in 1995 in Chiba, Sergeyev competed in the heavyweight and open classes. In the heavyweight division he lost his second fight against the Belarusian Ruslan Sharapau after an opening victory , in the open class Sergeyev lost his opening fight . In early 1996 the Kyrgyz competed at the World Cup tournaments in Paris, Leonding, Munich and Budapest, but lost all of his fights. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he had a bye in the first round. In his first fight he defeated the Senegalese Khalifa Diouf , in the third round he was defeated by the Chinese Liu Shenggang . In the hope round he was eliminated against the Romanian Alexandru Lungu . At the Asian Championships in 1996, Sergeyev won a bronze medal. At the Judo World Championships in Paris in 1997, Sergeyev lost to the Chinese Pan Song in the round of 16 .

It was not until 2000 that Sergeyev appeared again internationally. He finished seventh at the Asian Championships in Osaka. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 Segeyev met in his first fight on the US judoka Ato hand and was eliminated.
