Vadim Zakharov (pianist)

Vadim Zakharov (* 1946 ) is a Russian pianist.

Zakharov studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Jacob Milstein and was the winner of the Busoni Competition in Bozen and the Bach Competition in Leipzig. In 1989 he emigrated to Paris and later to Japan, where he taught at Nagoya University .

His musical partners include soloists such as Gidon Kremer , Yo Yo Ma , Yuri Bashmet , Wiktor Tretyakov , Natalia Gutman , Ivan Monighetti and Tatiana Grindenko , and he has performed under the conductors Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Gennadi Roschdestwenski , Eri Klas , Neeme Järvi , Mario Brunello , Christoph Eschenbach , Dmitri Kitajenko and others. At the First Sviatoslav Richter International Piano CompetitionIn 2005 in Moscow he was awarded the Audience Award. In France he was artistic director of the Les Symphoniques d'Argent festival .
