Valentin Morchutt

Valentin Friedrich Morchutt (born October 21, 1765 in Hersfeld ; † in the 19th century) was a German grocer , mayor and member of parliament.

Morchutt was the son of the Hersfeld merchant Hermann Morchutt (1731-1810), who in 1780 became mayor of Hersfeld. The grandfather was a wine merchant who immigrated from Italy. The mother was Catharina Agneta nee Stemler. Morchutt, who was a Protestant denomination, married Sophia Maria Henriette Sattler on May 19, 1793 in Kassel .

Morchutt lived as a merchant and trader (colonial goods) in Hersfeld. There he became a councilor and councilor. On December 7, 1807, he was a member of the deputation of the Hersfeld magistrate to welcome King Jérôme Bonaparte in Kassel. From June 2, 1808 to October 26, 1813, member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia for the Werra department and the group of voters of merchants and manufacturers. From 1830 to 1832 he was mayor of Hersfeld.
