Valentine Pringle

Valentine Pringle (born March 10, 1937 in the USA , † December 13, 1999 in Maseru , Lesotho ) was an American composer , singer , actor and writer .

Life

He was the composer of the song "Louise" sung by Harry Belafonte . As a singer he also released the two solo albums I Hear America Singing and Powerhouse . In the Federal Republic of Germany he appeared on October 16, 1965 in the Saturday evening TV show One will win . He also starred in the film Ragtime and had other minor roles in films in the 1970s and early 1980s. In the 1980s he moved to Lesotho, where he was stabbed to death by intruders in his home on December 13, 1999. Two years earlier, his brother Carl had also been shot by criminals who tried to steal his minivan and later died as a result of the injuries he suffered. Valentine Pringle was married to Thea van Maastricht from the Netherlands. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
