Valera is a city in the state of Trujillo in Venezuela and is its economic center. The urban area covers an area of 240 km² and lies between the Río Momboy and Río Motatán . The city has 128,190 inhabitants.
The mayor is (2014) José Karkom.
The Universidad Valle del Momboy , a private university, is located in Valera .
Valera has two daily newspapers, the Diario de Los Andes and the Diario El Tiempo , and various radio stations, e.g. B. Angel FM 93.7 , which broadcasts can also be heard over the Internet.
