Valerio Belli
Valerio Belli (* around 1468 in Vicenza ; † 1546 ibid), also called Valerio Vicentino, was an Italian gem cutter and medalist . He was the first deserved representative of the Italian Gemmoglyptik. He created numerous rock crystal stone cuts, for example his Cassetta Medici in the Museo degli Argenti (Florence, Palazzo Pitti) is famous. Giorgio Vasari dedicates a detailed biography to him in the Vite.
