Valerio Jalongo

Valerio Sebastiano Jalongo (born May 11, 1960 in Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Jalongo graduated with a degree in philosophy and directed his first short films as a student at the "Cinema Gaumont" school founded by Renzo Rossellini . He made his cinema debut in 1983 when his short La ricerca was part of the episode film Juke box . Among the works that followed, the only television film Torniamo a casa, made in 1997, is probably the best known. In it, a childless couple adopts a Romanian child. In 2010 he directed the drama La scuola è finita with Valeria Golino . Jalongo's style is described as "unobtrusive but radiant". His documentary Di me cosa non sai , in which he illuminates the Italian film landscape , also received special attention .
