Valeska Gert visiting professorship

The Valeska Gert guest professorship for dance and performance has existed since the 2006/2007 winter semester at the Institute for Theater Studies at the Free University of Berlin . It is jointly supported by the FU, the German Academic Exchange Service and the Berlin Academy of the Arts . It is named after the German avant-garde dancer and choreographer Valeska Gert . The artistic professorship is a central component of the international master’s course in dance studies, which was established by Gabriele Brandstetter . For each semester an international dance or performance artist is invited to work with dance studies students . The resulting choreographies will be presented in a final presentation at the Academy of Arts.
