The Vallis Snellius is a moon valley . Together with the Vallis Rheita , which runs further south in approximately the same direction, it is one of the longest valleys on the moon. Due to the strong erosion from overlying craters, however, it is difficult to make out the course of the valley.
The eponymous Snellius crater is roughly in the middle, from there it runs in a north-westerly direction to the area of the Borda crater . The course in southeast direction ends north of the Furnerius crater .
It was officially named by the International Astronomical Union in 1964.
