The Vallis Rheita is a moon valley . With the Vallis Snellius , which runs further north in approximately the same direction, it is one of the longest valleys on the moon. Due to the strong erosion from overlying craters, however, it is sometimes difficult to make out the course of the valley.
The eponymous crater Rheita is located at the north end, and from there it extends in the southeast direction, across the southern part of the crater Young , and ends near Reimarius A .
It was officially named by the International Astronomical Union in 1961.
